Update 11 Apr 2024 ACCC grants authorisation for banks to establish a program to jointly procure assurance reviews of mortgage aggregators On 11 April 2024, the ACCC granted authorisation with conditions for the applicants and other industry participants to develop and implement a program to collectively acquire assurance services in relation to mortgage aggregators. Update 29 Mar 2024 ACCC grants interim authorisation to the Australian Banking Association The ACCC has granted interim authorisation with conditions to the Australian Banking Association (ABA), its member banks, and other relevant industry participants to facilitate implementation of business continuity measures in the event of suspension or disruption to cash services in Australia. Update 15 Jul 2022 Clarification on report of ACCC's position on ANZ's possible acquisition of MYOB The ACCC is aware of a report that the ACCC has raised preliminary concerns regarding ANZ’s (ASX: ANZ) possible acquisition of MYOB, and that the ACCC will conduct a public review. The ACCC has not expressed any view on this possible transaction. If the transaction proceeds, the ACCC will make a decision on whether a public review will be conducted once it has received a submission from the parties. Update 09 Mar 2022 Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia Disciplinary Rules re-authorised The ACCC has decided to grant authorisation to the Mortgage and Finance Association Australia (MFAA), until 31 March 2027, to allow it to continue administer its disciplinary rules, which enforce the MFAA’s Code of Practice. Update 25 Feb 2022 ACCC grants interim authorisation for Allpoint ATM network The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to enable Cardtronics and financial institutions who join a proposed Allpoint ATM network to reach agreements with Cardtronics to provide cardholders of these financial institutions with the ability to access surcharge free ATM transactions (cash withdrawals and balance checks) throughout the Allpoint ATM network.
