The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Mood Media Australia Pty Ltd and its related bodies corporate on behalf of itself and Stingray Group Inc and its related bodies corporate to enable them to collectively negotiate the terms and conditions of music licence agreements with APRA AMCOS.

Melbourne quarry cartage businesses to collectively bargain with Boral

The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Lionbend Pty Ltd on behalf of itself and 13 current, and any future, quarry cartage businesses that provide services to Boral Resources Ltd Melbourne in the Melbourne metropolitan region.

ACCC grants interim authorisation to the Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA)

The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to the Australasian Performing Right Association Ltd (APRA) to enable APRA to continue its arrangements for the acquisition and licensing of performing rights in musical works, while the ACCC is considering APRA’s application for re-authorisation. Interim authorisation suspends the operation of APRA’s current authorisations which are due to expire on 28 June 2019.

Queensland councils to collectively tender for waste processing services

The ACCC has granted authorisation until 31 December 2050 to enable five Councils in south-east Queensland to collectively tender for waste processing services. The ACCC considers that collective tendering is likely to deliver public benefits and minimal public detriments.

Recruitment, Consulting & Staffing Association to implement new Code of Conduct

The ACCC has issued a draft determination proposing to allow the Recruitment, Consulting & Staffing Association Limited (RCSA) to give effect to its new Professional Conduct Regime. As a transitional measure, the authorisation would also allow RCSA to continue to give effect to its current Code for Professional Conduct and disciplinary procedures until the new Regime is implemented.

Northern Rivers Councils to collectively bargain with financial institutions

On 27 March 2019, Byron Shire Council, Ballina Shire Council, Clarence Valley Council, Kyogle Shire Council, Rous County Council and Tweed Shire Council (together, ‘the Councils’) lodged a collective bargaining notification seeking to jointly tender, negotiate and administer individual contracts with a financial institution for banking and bill payment services.
