Ban on excessive payment surcharging

The Competition and Consumer Amendment (Payment Surcharges) Act 2016 commenced on 25 February 2016. The Act inserts a new part into the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (CCA) which bans excessive payment surcharges.

ACCC has issued a final determination granting authorisation to CS Energy Limited, Callide Energy Pty Ltd, IG Power Limited and Callide Power Management Pty Limited to jointly negotiate with Batchfire Resources Pty Ltd the terms and conditions (including price) for the supply of coal to the Callide B and Callide C power stations in Queensland.
