ACCC proposes to authorise QSL and three sugar mills to collectively negotiate with Sugar Terminals Ltd

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation for Queensland Sugar Ltd, Bundaberg Sugar Ltd, Mackay Sugar Ltd and Isis Central Sugar Mill Co. Ltd to collectively negotiate with Sugar Terminals Ltd for the provision of storage and handling services at the six bulk sugar terminals in Queensland.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) proposes to grant authorisation to Murray Billing Transport and current and any future concrete cartage businesses to collectively bargain with Boral Resources Ltd, Concrete Division, Melbourne (Boral) for the delivery of concrete in the Melbourne metropolitan region.

New mandatory safety standard for elastic luggage straps labelling

The Minister for Small Business, the Hon Michael McCormack, has announced a new mandatory safety standard under the Australian Consumer Law, updated to ensure consumers are fully informed about using elastic luggage straps safely.
