ACCC proposes to grant authorisation to five NSW councils

The ACCC has released a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation to Camden Council, Campbelltown City Council, Liverpool City Council, Wingecarribee Shire Council and Wollondilly Shire Council (the Applicants) to collectively tender and contract for waste processing services until 1 July 2044.

ACCC grants interim authorisation to Central Highlands and Isaac Regional Councils

The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to Central Highlands Regional Council and Isaac Regional Council in Central Queensland to commence preparations for a joint procurement process for waste collection services.

ACCC authorises minor change to Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa airline alliance

The ACCC has decided to allow a minor variation to the authorisation initially granted in 2016 for an alliance between Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa to coordinate their operations between Singapore Airlines’ home markets (Singapore, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia) and Lufthansa’s home markets (Germany, Austria, Belgium and Switzerland). The minor variation is to include Scoot, a low cost carrier which is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, in the alliance.

Victorian Off-Course Agents Association collective bargaining to continue

The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Victorian Off-Course Agents Association Inc. (VOCAA) to enable VOCAA to negotiate the terms of a new Distribution Services Agreement with Tabcorp on behalf of its current and future TAB Agent members.

The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Six/Left Group to enable collective bargaining by small to medium size homeware retailers to collectively bargain over point of sale financing.

Shellharbour, Wollongong and Shoalhaven councils to receive 10-year immunity for joint landfill gas tendering

The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by Shellharbour City Council to enable itself, Wollongong City Council and Shoalhaven City Council (the Councils) to collectively tender for landfill gas capture and management services.

ACCC grants interim authorisation to five NSW councils

The ACCC has granted interim authorisation to Campbelltown City Council, Camden Council, Liverpool City Council, Wingecarribee Shire Council and Wollondilly Shire Council to commence preparations for a collective tender process for waste processing services.  No contracts will be entered into under interim authorisation.

Interim authorisation commences immediately and remains in place unless it is revoked by the ACCC or the when the ACCC completes its assessment of the application for authorisation.

PaintRight collective bargaining to continue

The ACCC has decided not to object to the notification lodged by PaintRight Ltd (PaintRight) to enable it to continue to collectively negotiate with various suppliers on behalf of 57 independently owned and operated paint retailers across Australia, and future paint retailers that join this group.

The ACCC has decided to allow collective bargaining by dairy farmers in Gippsland, Victoria with raw milk processors and distributors (milk purchasers).
