City of Hobart and Others joint organic waste processing authorised

The ACCC has granted authorisation to enable three Tasmanian councils to engage in collective tendering and contracting for food and garden organics processing services, including acceptance, sorting and disposal. Authorisation has been granted until 8 December 2026.

The ACCC proposes to re-authorise collective procurement of various waste services by Albury City Council & Ors

The ACCC proposes to revoke authorisation AA1000596 and grant authorisation AA1000612 in substitution to enable Albury City Council, Wodonga City Council, Indigo Shire Council, Greater Hume Council, Federation Council, Leeton Shire Council, Berrigan Shire Council and Edward River Council (the Participating Councils) to collectively tender and contract for waste and recycling collection, transport, sorting, and processing services.

ACCC grants interim authorisation for Virgin Australia and Alliance Airlines to continue Charter Alliance Agreement

On 8 June 2022, the ACCC granted interim authorisation to Virgin Australia Regional Airlines Pty Ltd, Virgin Australia Airlines Pty Ltd, Alliance Airlines Pty Limited and Alliance Aviation Services Limited (together, the Applicants) to enter into and give effect to an extension of their Charter Alliance Agreement.

ACCC authorises regional waste collection service for Perth councils

The ACCC has decided to authorise the Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC), the City of Bayswater, the Town of Bassendean and the Shire of Mundaring in relation to the establishment of a Regional Waste Collection Service, where each of the 3 councils, which account for 7% of households in metropolitan Perth, will jointly negotiate and administer, and enter and give effect to, service agreements with the EMRC for the provision of collection and ancillary waste services.
