ACCC holiday operations

As the ACCC will have limited operations during the Christmas and New Year period, we wanted to provide you with details of arrangements over the break.

ACCC offices: Our offices will be closed from 12 pm, Friday 24 December 2021 until 9.00am, Tuesday, 4 January 2022. However, given COVID-19 conditions in several states, appointments are currently needed and arrangements should be made before attending one of our offices.

Infocentre: The Infocentre phone lines will be closed from 5pm on Thursday 23 December, and will reopen on Tuesday, 4 January 2022. Consumers and small businesses who would like to make a report to the Infocentre are encouraged to submit a web form.

Media enquiries: For urgent enquiries please call 0408 995 408 (no texts). The team will be back in the office from 4 January 2021.

Product safety: Mandatory reports on product safety injury reports and recall notifications can be made via the Product Safety website.

Merger enquiries: Any queries or information in relation to a merger or acquisition (whether or not the ACCC is presently reviewing it) should be emailed to

Notifications and Authorisation applications: Applicants wishing to lodge a notification or application for authorisation should email including a cover letter and details of the lodgement fee payment. Authorisation applications and notifications are not validly lodged until the relevant fee has been paid.

FOI requests: All applications lodged under the Freedom of Information Act (1982) will be assessed when the ACCC office reopens on 4 January 2022.
