Electricity market monitoring inquiry 2018-25

On 22 December 2019, the ACCC released its third report as part of its inquiry into the prices, profits and margins in the supply of electricity in the National Electricity Market. This report includes:

• an examination of the cost components of electricity bills using data obtained from retailers for the 2018-19 financial year
• analysis of how pricing of electricity plans on offer has changed since reforms to retailer pricing and advertising came into effect on 1 July 2019
