On 28 April 2023, the ACCC released the sixth interim report for the Digital Platform Services Inquiry.
The report considers competition and consumer issues in the provision of social media services to consumers and businesses in Australia by social media platforms, and highlights a range of competition and consumer harms occurring across social media services. The report continues to support reforms to protect consumers and businesses.

Issues paper
To inform this report, the ACCC released an issues paper on 16 August 2022 seeking views on the operation of social media services in Australia from interested stakeholders. The ACCC invites submissions on the matters outlined in this Issues Paper by 9 September 2022.
