About the forum
The Wholesale Telecommunications Consultative Forum was established in 2012 to provide an opportunity for meaningful dialogue between the ACCC and the telecommunications industry.
It also provides information to increase the ACCC’s understanding of structural separation and migration issues and so assist the ACCC in undertaking its role under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and Telecommunications Act 1997.
How the forum works
A range of wholesale telecommunications industry participants and other interested parties have been invited to the forum to ensure a wide range of relevant views are represented.
Participants are encouraged to provide their views and comments on issues in the telecommunications industry at meetings. Examples of issues that participants may want to comment on include:
- issues regarding the implementation or operation of Telstra’s Structural Separation Undertaking and Migration Plan, and the operational processes that are set out in those documents
- potential issues affecting competition, or consumer interests more broadly, in the industry and how they may be addressed by the SSU or Migration Plan
- relevant trends affecting the industry
- other telecommunications industry issues as requested by the ACCC.
