The final report following the agricultural machinery market study was released in May 2021. The market study examined markets for the direct sale of agricultural machinery, as well as those for after-sales services, such as repairs.
This followed the release of a discussion paper in February 2020, and the ACCC seeking feedback and information from stakeholders via submissions and responses to a purchaser survey.
The market study has been finalised, however, the ACCC will develop guidance materials to assist purchasers of agricultural machinery to understand their business and consumer rights, which will be available to industry by the end of 2021.
The ACCC will also continue to monitor issues in agricultural machinery markets, including in relation to the adoption of the recommendations made in the report.
