On 18 December 2018, we released our first interim report setting out our findings about the operation of markets for home, contents and strata insurance markets in northern Australia. We provided the report to the Treasurer on 30 November 2018.
The report makes 15 recommendations that we consider will improve the operation of these insurance markets and achieve better outcomes for the consumers. We have also made 13 draft recommendations that have the potential to make these markets work more efficiently.
Submissions in response to the draft recommendations were due by Friday 12 April 2019.

Confidentiality
This inquiry is a public process, so responses will ordinarily be published on the ACCC website as submissions to the inquiry. The ACCC can accept a claim of confidentiality from the party if the disclosure of information would damage their competitive position.
