On 31 July 2020, the ACCC released a draft version of the news media bargaining code.
The ACCC invited all interested parties to provide their views on the draft code.
The consultation process closed 28 August 2020. The ACCC considered the submissions as part of finalising recommendations provided to the Treasurer.

The ACCC will publish all public submissions on our website, and will inform interested parties when publication will occur.
While the ACCC is responsible for receiving submissions, all submissions, including confidential versions, will be shared with the Treasurer; the Minister for Communications, Cyber Security and the Arts; the Department of the Treasury; and the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications, who will accept these submissions shared by the ACCC, on a confidential basis.
