Description of Conduct
On 11 September 2012 the AMA applied for authorisation for general practitioners to engage in:
(a) intra-practice price setting;
(b) collective bargaining by single practices in relation to engagement of Visiting Medical Officers to public hospitals; and
(c) collective bargaining by single practices in relation to the provision of services to Medicare Locals.
On 21 February 2013 the ACCC issued a determination granting authorisation in respect of the proposed arrangements for five years.
