Public inquiry to vary the final access determination for the superfast broadband access service

The ACCC has published a discussion paper for the superfast broadband access service (SBAS) access determination inquiry.

The discussion paper seeks stakeholders’ views on whether to include additional regulated access terms in the SBAS access determination regarding the locations and characteristics of the points of interconnection for access seekers to acquire a declared SBAS and, if so, the form of those requirements.

The discussion paper sets out the key issues for the inquiry and invites stakeholder comment on the questions provided. Please provide submissions by 5 pm AEDT on Friday 28 March 2025.

After considering submissions the ACCC will release a report setting out its findings on whether to vary the SBAS access determination and if so, the form of that variation. Depending upon the submissions received, the ACCC may publish a draft of the report for further comment before issuing its final report.
