Consultation on ACCC view25 Jan 2024
On 25 January 2024, the ACCC published a preliminary view proposing to not object to Australia Post’s proposed price increase.
In assessing the draft price notification, the ACCC found that Australia Post is not likely to recover revenue in excess of efficient costs for its reserved letter service – even with the proposed price increase.
As part of the price assessment process, the ACCC engaged consultancy firm WIK Consult to provide an independent review of Australia Post’s cost allocation and operating efficiency.
The ACCC conducted a public consultation process between 25 January 2024 and 15 February 2024, during which we sought submissions from interested parties on this preliminary view.
