Consultation on ACCC view25 Jan 2024

The ACCC has published a preliminary view proposing to not object to Australia Post’s proposed price increase.

In its assessment of the draft price notification, the ACCC found that Australia Post is not likely to recover revenue in excess of efficient costs for its reserved letter service – even with the price increase.

As part of the price assessment process, the ACCC engaged consultancy firm WIK Consult to provide an independent review of Australia Post’s cost allocation and operating efficiency.

The ACCC invites submissions from interested parties on this view. Consultation is open until 15 February 2024.

Submissions should be sent via email to:

The ACCC prefers that all submissions are publicly available, and intends to publish submissions on this website. If your submission – or part of your submission – should be treated as confidential, please advise the ACCC at the time of correspondence.
