Our fifth weekly report provides the latest retail price movements to 8 April, a week after the fuel excise came into effect. Average retail petrol prices in capital cities and many regional locations have largely reflected the fuel excise reduction. In the absence of the excise cut, retail diesel prices would likely have trended higher as a result of increases in international refined diesel prices.
