On 27 March 2025, the ACCC released its 24th interim report as a part of its inquiry into Australia’s gas supply arrangements. The ACCC continues its focus on the operation of the east coast gas market.
This report provides an update on long-term gas supply agreements (GSA) prices, contracting activity, pricing mechanisms and contract flexibility terms.
This report is in response to a request from the Minister for Climate Change and Energy on 14 November 2024 to increase the frequency of reporting on GSAs as an interim means of improving the transparency of gas prices.
The Minister requested that the ACCC include additional reporting on GSAs in its existing quarterly inquiry reports from 2025. This is the first report under this new requirement.
