The Competition and Consumer Act 2010 contains compulsory information-gathering powers under s. 155 that enable the ACCC to obtain information, documents and evidence in relation to its enforcement functions, certain authorisation and notification decisions and regulatory matters.
This guide will be updated to reflect that as of 7 November 2024, the value of a penalty unit has increased to $330. This change means that the maximum fines referred to on page 7 of the guide for a refusal or failure to comply with a s. 155 notice by the due date have increased to $33,000 for individuals and $165,000 for companies.
