The ACCC has issued a draft determination proposing to authorise City of Newcastle and Port Stephens Council to jointly:
- negotiate, enter and give effect to separate contracts for the provision of food and garden organics (FOGO) processing services
- deliver FOGO education and communication services.
The ACCC proposes to grant authorisation until 30 June 2036.
The ACCC is seeking submissions in response to the draft determination by Friday, 20 February 2026, before making its final decision.
