On 19 June 2024, the ACCC granted interim authorisation to the Australasian Performing Right Association Limited (APRA) to enable APRA to continue its arrangements for the acquisition and licensing of performing rights in musical works. Interim authorisation is granted on the same terms as the current authorisation AA1000433, including the conditions of authorisation imposed in 2020.
Interim authorisation will also enable the ACCC to continue its assessment of the substantive application AA1000661 for revocation and substitution, including consideration of any issues raised by interested parties in submissions.
Further information about the ACCC’s interim decision is available on the ACCC’s public register.
