On 28 August 2024, the ACCC granted interim authorisation to Catholic Health Australia Limited (Catholic Health) to enable Catholic Health’s members to continue with their data sharing and collective bargaining arrangements, as well as a limited collective boycott of large suppliers in certain circumstances, being the same conduct authorised in current authorisation A91400 in 2014. Interim authorisation does not extend to the proposed boycott of the major private health insurers.

Interim authorisation will also enable the ACCC to continue its assessment of the substantive application AA1000677 for revocation and substitution, including consideration of any issues raised by interested parties in submissions.

Further information about the ACCC’s interim decision is available on the ACCC's public register.
