On 15 April 2025, Australian Payments Network Limited (AusPayNet) applied for revocation of authorisation AA1000495-1 and its substitution with a new authorisation. The authorisation concerns the certification, suspension, and termination provisions of the Issuers and Acquirers Community (IAC) Regulations and Code Set, which have been authorised in some form by the ACCC since 2000.
Reauthorisation is sought because the existing authorisation expires on 1 August 2025.
On 17 July 2025, the ACCC granted interim authorisation for AusPayNet to continue to give effect to the certification, suspension and termination provisions of the IAC Regulations and Code Set that were previously authorised while the ACCC considers the substantive application for reauthorisation.
