The ACCC and AER are proud to have achieved Bronze Tier Status within the Australian Workplace Equality Index (AWEI) for 2023–26.
The AWEI is the definitive national benchmark on LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion in Australia.
This recognition reinforces the ACCC/AER’s fierce commitment to building an inclusive culture and zero tolerance of discrimination and bullying within the workplace.
Achieving Bronze Tier Status is another step towards the ACCC and AER’s aim to represent the rich diversity of all Australians and to be recognised as an inclusive employer of choice, where all our employees can come to work feeling valued, respected, and free to be themselves.
LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion continues to be a key priority at the ACCC and AER.
With the support of our PRIDE Network, we recently carried out actions to foster an inclusive workplace for LGBTQIA+ people.
We:
- actioned the commitments in the ACCC/AER Pride Plan
- refreshed and updated the ACCC Gender Affirmation policy
- updated parental leave guidelines to be inclusive of LGBTQIA+ families
- updated domestic and family violence policy to be inclusive of LGBTQIA+ people
- introduced internal LGBTQIA+ communication communities.
