On 19 April 2017, the Australian Government directed the ACCC to conduct a wide-ranging inquiry into the supply of and demand for natural gas in Australia, and to publish regular information on the supply and pricing of gas for the next 3 years. On 25 July 2019, the Treasurer wrote to the ACCC extending the inquiry until December 2025. View project

On 20 August 2018, the Treasurer directed the ACCC to hold a public inquiry into the prices, profits and margins in the supply of electricity in the national electricity market. The terms of reference required a first report by 31 March 2019 and then every 6 months until the end of the inquiry on 31 August 2025. View project
