Viterra Operations Limited (Viterra) operates bulk wheat port terminals at Port Adelaide (Inner Harbour and Outer Harbor), Thevenard, Port Lincoln, Wallaroo and Port Giles and is a subsidiary of Glencore International Plc.
On 28 September 2011 the ACCC accepted, under Division 6 of Part IIIA of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (CCA), the 2011 Undertaking provided to the ACCC by Viterra on 22 September 2011.
Viterra had earlier lodged a proposed Undertaking on 23 December 2010 that was subsequently withdrawn. Under its Undertaking, Viterra was required to introduce an auction system for the allocation port terminal capacity. The ACCC's final decision in relation to this was released on 5 September 2012.
On 30 January 2014 the ACCC issued a decision to consent to an application by Viterra to vary and extend the operation of its 2011 undertaking.
