Final decision3 Feb 2017

On 3 February 2017, the ACCC released a report of its final decision to extend declaration of the wholesale ADSL service for five years, until 13 February 2022.

The declaration instrument is available at the ACCC’s public registers.

A public version of the report is available below. In the final report the ACCC has referred to confidential information provided by:

  • Telstra
  • Optus
  • Macquarie Telecom, and
  • Exetel.

Parties who have confidentiality arrangements in place with the stakeholders can obtain confidential versions of the ACCC’s final report from these stakeholders.

On 3 February 2017, the ACCC informed the Office of Best Practice Regulation that its declaration inquiry has undertaken a process equivalent to a Regulatory Impact Statement. On 23 February 2017, the ACCC wrote to update this original letter, warranting that the portfolio of the Department of Communications and the Arts net regulatory objective will be met within the relevant reporting period.

The ACCC has amended its final report to reflect this update.
