Mr Robert G Allen, principal speaker at the Robert Allen Millionaire Matrix Seminar commencing in Sydney today, has consented to orders in the Federal Court requiring him to not make, publish or cause the publication of certain representations as to wealth creation strategies made in material promoting the seminar.

The consent orders follow Australian Competition and Consumer Commission action yesterday (Tuesday) against Vision Pursuit Pty Ltd and Giann & Giann Pty Ltd alleging misleading and/or deceptive conduct in relation to the promotion of the seminar. Vision Pursuit and Giann & Giann consented to orders in the Federal Court, Sydney, requiring those companies to make corrective statements and place corrective signs at the seminar venue.

The ACCC's allegations against Mr Allen concerned marketing material that was sent directly to Australian consumers inviting them to attend the Robert Allen Millionaire Matrix Seminar, containing allegedly misleading and deceptive statements relating to certain wealth creation strategies to be taught at the seminar which the ACCC alleges are only applicable in the United States.

"Today's court action sends a strong message not only to promoters of these types of seminars, but also to seminar presenters from overseas who come to Australia to promote and teach investment strategies that do not apply in Australia that they will not get away with it", ACCC Chairman, Mr Graeme Samuel, said today.

"The ACCC is committed to ensuring that Australian consumers are not misled by representations made by promoters and speakers at seminars in relation to wealth creation strategies where those strategies do not apply in Australia" he said.
