The take up of broadband services has passed the one million mark, according to the latest Australian Competition and Consumer Commission Snapshot of Broadband Deployment issued today.

"The report shows that as at the end of June 2004, there were 1,047,800 broadband services connected across Australia", an ACCC Commissioner, Mr Ed Willett, said.

"This figure has been reached with an increase of 349,100 services over the first six months of 2004", he said.  "In the June 2004 quarter, broadband growth increased to 26.3 per cent, up from 18.7 per cent in the previous quarter".
