The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission today issued a determination varying an authorisation granted to the Australian Property Institute.

The API sought ACCC approval to make minor amendments to its Rules of Conduct. The Rules of Conduct set out standards of professional practice, education, ethics and professional conduct for API members in undertaking property valuations.

The changes clarify the requirements of certain classes of API members to have either their property valuation reports co-signed, the property itself co-inspected, or both, by an API Member with the relevant qualifications.
