The Unit Pricing Code came into effect on 1 July 2009 and becomes enforceable on 1 December 2009. It will make it mandatory for some grocery retailers to display unit pricing where selling prices are displayed for all non-exempt grocery items by 1 December 2009. The ACCC has prepared a range of guidance material to assist grocery retailers to comply with the requirements of the new code.
