This latest edition of Update provides another snapshot of just some of our activities, including a special series of reports on one of our key roles under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (the new name for the Trade Practices Act 1974): product safety.
The ACL changes include harmonisation of the nation’s systems for ensuring products are safe. They also include formalisation of the ACCC’s national co-ordination role among the country’s federal, state and territory authorities.
Also in this Update we explain the elements of the recent changes, designed to make the system more streamlined, more timely and more effective.
