Competition analysis
The ACCC considered that the proposed acquisition was unlikely to result in a substantial lessening of competition in the relevant market. Key factors informing this conclusion included:
-there would remain a number of other pre-mix concrete suppliers post-acquisition, both within Taree and located to the south and north; and
-there were relatively low barriers to new entry or expansion in the supply of pre-mix concrete within the Taree region.
