Australian Consumer Law: what you need to know - business snapshot

The Australian Consumer Law (ACL) commenced on 1 January 2011. Under the ACL, consumers will have the same protections and expectations about business conduct no matter where they are in Australia. Similarly, businesses will have the same obligations and responsibilities wherever they operate in Australia.

This guide provides an overview of the key parts of the ACL, including unfair contract terms, consumer guarantees, sales practices and product safety.
