Consumer guarantees for services

As a consumer, you automatically receive certain guarantees when you buy services.

There are three consumer guarantees that apply to services you buy. These guarantees are made by the service provider.

If a service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you may be entitled to a remedy—either fixing the problem with the services, a refund or compensation for any drop in value from the original price paid—depending on the circumstances.

If there is a major problem with a service and you choose to cancel the contract, you must tell the service provider. You may also have a right to a refund.
