Because of the price cycle in some of the major Australian capital cities, there is often a regular pattern of the cheapest and most expensive day for petrol during the week. The table below shows the cheapest day in the five major cities last week.

Note: The duration of price cycles have been changing and are no longer weekly. Consequently, the cheapest day to buy petrol last week was not necessarily the same as the cheapest day of the price cycle.
