36. Can a franchisor set a minimum price for the sale of goods or services?

No, a franchisor who supplies goods or services is prohibited from specifying or advertising a minimum price below which goods or services may not be resold or advertised for resale. This type of conduct is known as resale price maintenance.

However, a maximum price can be set for the sale of goods or services through a franchise.
