Component pricing—restaurants, cafés and hotels, Business snapshot
Date published:
16th December 2010
Component pricing is where a business represents the cost of a good or service to consumers in, or as the sum of, multiple component parts. This is a practice commonly used by restaurants, cafés and hotels, so it is important that owners of these businesses are aware of some recent changes to the rules. This publication tells you about these changes and how they will affect you.
This publication has been updated to refer to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 which replaces the Trade Practices ACT 1974 on 1 January 2011. For more information on the Australian Consumer Law changes see www.consumerlaw.gov.au
