Under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 the Minister may direct the ACCC to monitor prices, costs and profits relating to the supply of goods or services in a specified industry and give the Minister a report on its monitoring activities.
2011-12 monitoring activities
In 2011-12 the Minister directed the ACCC to monitor the prices, costs and profits of unleaded petrol products for one year and report to him by 17 December 2012.
