Further call to whistleblower

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission today issued a request to the whistleblower who contacted the Commission late last year to contact the ACCC urgently.

The anonymous whistleblower recently has been in touch and considerable information was received. However, some specific details about the allegations made by the whistleblower in the original letter are required to help progress the ACCC's inquiries.

The ACCC has been rigorously investigating the allegations and has received legal advice.

"The ACCC doesn't need the person to reveal their identity, just to answer some questions about the information in the letter", ACCC Chairman, Professor Allan Fels, said.

"The ACCC is aware that the person has concerns about their identity being disclosed and undertakes to respect their wishes".
