The ACCC immunity policy for cartel conduct was revised in July 2009. This policy provides greater certainty for immunity applicants so that the ACCC is better able to detect and break up hard-core cartels operating in Australia, so providing benefits for consumers, businesses and the economy.
This publication was updated to reflect the change in the name of the Trade Practices Act 1974 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 on the 1 January 2011. The name change is part of a suite of changes brought about by the Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No 1) 2010 and Trade Practices Amendment (Australian Consumer Law) Act (No 2) Act 2010.
