Summary
On 25 June 2009 the TWUA SA/NT Branch applied for authorisation to bargain on behalf of union-member and non-member `Milk Vendors' (independent owner-drivers contracted to milk processors to deliver milk) in South Australia with milk processor National Foods and the new owner of the Dairy Farmers business, Parmalat.
The TWU proposes that such collective bargaining would be over such matters as distribution-contract terms, `rationalisation of distribution businesses' and `any dispute' between the vendors and the processors.
On 9 September 2009 the ACCC issued a final determination granting authorisation, for five years.
