Professions and the Trade Practices Act

The proceedings of a major conference on competition law and the professions are now available in either print or cassette form from the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

"The papers presented at the conference highlight contemporary issues faced by the professions which are now working under the Trade Practices Act," ACCC Commissioner, Mr Sitesh Bhojani, said today.

"The proceedings tell members of the professions what they need to know about their rights and responsibilities.

"Every professional needs to understand the Trade Practices Act," Mr Bhojani said. "The conference, which was organised by the ACCC, the University of Western Australia, Murdoch University and University of Notre Dame, is an important educative tool.

"The ACCC has produced a softback proceedings publication or, for busy professionals, cassette tapes of the conference proceedings.

"The publication/tapes will be of use to associations and individuals.

"The proceedings are available from the ACCC at a cost of $15 (softback) or $20 (tapes), including postage and packaging," Mr Bhojani said.
