25. Who pays the cost of mediation?

The cost of mediation is shared between the parties, unless agreed otherwise.

Parties pay their own expenses for attending the mediation. If one party would like the mediation at a particular location, it will usually need to pay half the travel costs of the other party. If the parties cannot agree on a location, the mediator will decide on a location and the parties pay their own travel costs.
