Help with carbon claims

There are many resources available that can help consumers understand carbon claims.

Misleading claims

If you believe a claim is misleading in any way you can report this to the ACCC. Contact the Infocentre on 1300 302 502, or lodge a complaint on the ACCC’s website.

Other resources

The Australian Government Department of Climate Change (DCC) is responsible for implementing Australian Government action on climate change and the Greenhouse Friendly™ initiative.

To help you find and choose carbon offsets, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology’s Global Sustainability Institute, and the Environment Protection Agency Victoria have created an online directory of offset providers, Carbon Offset Guide Australia.

Information on the Mandatory Renewable Energy Target and Renewable Energy Certificates is available from the Australian Government Office of the Renewable Energy Regulator.

Information about accredited renewable energy is available on the GreenPower™ website.
