The Federal Competition Commission (CFC), is the Mexican equivalent to the ACCC and is a deconcentrated agency of the Ministry of Economy with technical and operational autonomy, which is responsible for the implementation of the Federal Economic Competition Law (LFCE) in Mexico. The CFC's mandate, as explicitly stated in the LFCE, is to protect the process of competition and free access to markets, through the prevention and elimination of monopolistic practices and other restrictions to market efficiency, in order to contribute to societal welfare.
