A new mandatory consumer product safety standard for prams and strollers takes effect on 1 July 2008. If you sell prams and strollers, you need to be aware of the requirements of the standard, which are outlined in this fact sheet.

Report to the Australian Senate on anti-competitive by health funds and providers in relation to private health insurance, 1 July 2006 to 30 June 2007
This is the ninth report prepared by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission in compliance with an order agreed to by the Australian Senate on 25 March 1999 and amended on 18 September 2002. This Senate order requires the ACCC to provide a report of ‘any anti-competitive practices by health funds or providers, which reduce the extent of health cover for consumers and increase their out-of-pocket medical and other expenses’.

Water markets issues paper
The ACCC has released this issues paper seeking submissions on the development of water market rules. Consistent with Part 4 of the Water Act 2007, the Minister for Climate Change and Water, Senator Penny Wong, has written to the ACCC requesting advice on the water market rules. The purpose of the water market rules is to free up the trade of water access rights within the Murray-Darling Basin.
