Amendments to the Franchising Code of Conduct

Following a review of the franchising code’s disclosure provisions, the Australian Government has made several amendments to the code. These amendments aim to increase the transparency, quality and timeliness of disclosure to existing and prospective franchisees. They became law on 1 March 2008.

To help you understand your rights and obligations in relation to the code, the ACCC has produced a range of compliance materials. If you are a franchisor or a franchisee, you may find the Franchising Code of Conduct amendment fact sheet useful.
