The Financial Ombudsman Service is an independent, non-profit, national organisation that resolves disputes between consumers and financial services providers (banks, insurers, credit unions, financial advisors and other businesses that provide financial products and services). FOS’s service is free to consumers.
Customers of financial services providers who think they have been unfairly treated should complain to the business first. If they are unhappy with the response they receive, they can lodge their dispute with FOS.
