As the Peak Body for seniors in the Territory, COTA (NT) is dedicated to protecting and promoting the well being of Territorians aged 50 years and over and Indigenous Territorians aged 45 years and over. The Northern Territory Government provides financial support to assist COTA (NT) in fulfilling its policy, consultation, representation and information dissemination roles.
COTA (NT) delivers projects which assist Territory seniors, with funding provided by various organisations. Our current projects include provision of assistance to seniors from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds through the Commonwealth Government's Partners in Culturally Appropriate Aged Care (PICAC) program and the Northern Territory Government's Office of Ethnic Affairs; and Peer Education programs funded by the National Prescribing Service (Seniors Quality Use of Medicines, Generic Medicines) and beyondblue (Beyond maturityblues).
